Mother Earth

With Earth Day coming up on April 22 people seem to be looking for ways to celebrate the day. This year I would like to take a more 'sacred' look at this day and everyday that we are gifted with life.

Our government creates these days to get people involved at least once a year. People need to look past the actual 'holiday' and see the whole truth. Senator Gaylord Nelson, Founder of Earth Day, had a stronger vision than simply one day. He strived to educate the world. His plan was to teach the children about the planet they lived on so that they would want to take better care of Her. Through public awareness there was hope. The original impact of Earth Day has been lost along the way.

Everyone is willing to become involved with the programs that are offered for the day. How many are willing to look past that day and see the brutal truth that is in front of us? This year I would like to honor the original reasoning behind Earth Day. Even more so, I would like all of us to honor our Earth Mother, for without Her we would not exist.

What follows is an eye-opening piece that was entrusted to me by a close friend. We have chosen to reach out and attempt to wake the world up. It is bold and very true. We would not offer anything less.

"When a child cries out from pain or fear, of what consequence the color, creed or nationality of the suffering being? Do hunger or suffering honor any boundary?

As we war one against the other, could we not as easily learn to love? It may be too late for us, but certainly not for our children, and their children. The hating must stop with us and not be transferred to them. If they are not taught a better way, they will not have a better way. From new life comes new life. From our present, their future.

To whom does this precious Earth belong? To those pathetic uncaring individuals who would unthinkingly poison Her air and tear Her apart for their own selfish gains? Or to the many individuals who would preserve Her for future generations?

The Earth is a living planetary body in space. A complex biological entity dependent upon an ecological balance upon which all of Her offspring are also dependent.

Industry born of greed with no eye to the future has severely affected the bio ecological balance of Nature. We are left with acid rain, dying forests, stagnant and lifeless streams, lakes and rivers and a poisoned food chain. Along with, lovely and exotic creatures extinct or brought to the threshold of extinction by the unwary hands of men, who have never learned to live within the balanced Laws of Nature.

Ever must man bend everything to his will or destroy that which threatens his superiority? He uses his natural resources unwisely and selfishly. He takes beyond his needs, and wastes to the brink of disaster.

It is still not too late to resist and refuse to be brainwashed into ways that we know are wrong. We must learn to see the beauty in every country and individual. We are part of a large and wonderfully unique family where the only significant politic to adhere to is the loving and helping hand extended one to the other. We must learn to throw off the yokes of political and religious tyranny and learn to abide within the balanced laws of Nature.

It is not too late to reverse this trend toward planetary disaster."

This message was sent with the entrusted piece. 'Dawn this piece will be in two parts, the second part will represent the Earth Mothers message.'

As of this morning I had not received the second part of his message. Therefore I entered the Silence and listened for what our Mother needed for us to hear. The voice of Gaia (Mother Earth) is soothing and inspiring. She touches our souls if we only will take the time to listen with our hearts to what She needs to tell us. While listening to our Earth Mother I felt surrounded with such incredible healing energy. Our world would be so different if we would only heed Her teachings. What follows is Gaia's message. I thank Her for entrusting it to me to deliver.

"It is only through the concept of Oneness and Unconditional Love that I will be healed. To know the concept is not enough. One must live the concept everyday in order for the world's energy to be changed. Each of you has the Power to heal me.

Everyone is talking about the "Big Shift" with speculations on the end of the world. It will be the end of the world, as you know it. This is not on the physical plane. It is on the mental plane.

When my children realize that each of you are simply an extension of the next creature, that is when I will start to breathe easier. For when you realize that you are your Brother's keeper because you are your Brother, only then will you live with respect in your heart for all.

With respect in your heart your thoughts and actions can only be pure. With interconnectedness as your foundation you will be incapable of destruction. For you will KNOW that if you destroy any part of me you will destroy yourself.

It is through this viewpoint that you will honor your children, your children's children and me. This is what I long for. This is the message I want you to carry within your hearts and share with all you meet. Have the courage to stand up for what you know to be true. Live this truth, be a living example of what the world needs to learn.

As you save me … you save yourselves. Unite together and let us LIVE!"

It is through Her teachings that we will not only survive, but thrive. This Earth Day stand tall as our brothers the Standing People (trees) do. Stand firm in Her teachings as the Stone People do. Hold your hearts up to the Heavens and let Brother Wind take them to be shared with the world. This year live each day as if it were our last. For it very well could be if we don't heed Her message.
