A Grandma's Touch

When I was just a little one
not knowing where all things came from...
My Grandma took me by the hand
and helped me make a precious stand.

She taught me how the rabbits run,
How the birds fly sideways just for fun.
She showed me every rock upon the ground
and told me
here was where the ancient wisdom could be found.

She knew so much... she was bigger than life.
I strained my ears and listened with all my might.
What started out as being a curious child
turned into a life of service and not just for awhile.

Grandma gave so freely of herself.
She put her own needs up upon a shelf.
What she gave to me was an open door
to a well lit Path and so much more.

Upon this Path I would surely stay
and serve my Heavenly Family, if I may.
Like my Grandma...I hold life dear,
and trust in God, so I have no fear.

I've grown up to be so much like her.
From the depths of my soul the same emotions do stir.
I've put my own life upon a shelf
And from this
I feel blessed with something better than wealth.

This world is so full of pain and suffering.
That's why Grandma taught me what a
simple Act of Kindness could bring.
Just a hug or a smile
could wash away someone's anguish for awhile.

I look to the world…to those all around me.
Tears well up from what I see.
There are souls so lost, simply wandering
I ask myself... "how can this be?"

So I offer to you an open door
to a well lit Path and so much more.
I give to you now what Grandma gave me...
a crystal clear opportunity.

Take my hand and make a stand
to spread Love and Light upon this land.
Make a difference in someone's life.
Start right now…this very night.

Your life will never be the same.
Your emotions you will have to tame.
Life will begin to mean so much more.
You'll realize Kindness is Heaven's cure.

As you serve upon this Path
This is what's left in your aftermath.
A brighter world because of you...
a world given a chance to start anew.

Each of us can open a door
and offer the world so much more.
Let us shine our Light upon this world,
touch the hearts of every boy and girl.

May we show them the magic that Grandma did me
Peak their interest... their innocent curiosity.
May they grow with this Kindness so deep within their hearts
And shine their Light upon this world from the very start.

Grandma would be so happy to see
a world filled with such Love and Beauty.
My heart goes out to her and you
for helping this world start anew.
