I have always loved the birds. Their flight is like watching 'Freedom' in action. I would spend hours as a child completely captivated by them. The Hawks and the Crows were my favorite. It has been the last four years that the connection has become so incredibly strong for me. I see Crows everywhere. They come close enough to 'whisper' to me and the messages are increasingly clear.

Crows symbolize integrity and compassion. "Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you". Crow teaches us to know ourselves. He stretches us beyond our limitations bringing magic, tiny little miracles, into our lives. He teaches us to appreciate the many 'layers' of ourselves and all of life around us. We are able to see past the 'black and white' of reality into the gray areas for a clearer look at our lives.

He is associated with motherly love and spiritual strength. He is linked to Christian solitude and is believed to be an emblem of the Blessed Mother. The words, "I am dark, but lovely...because the Sun has tanned me," are believed to mean that the Light and Love of God has so shown upon her that she is burned and purified as if by a might sun or fire. (Song 1:5-6) Crow is also associated with the Goddess ... such as Athena, the Goddess of wisdom, victory and the arts.
